All Lubricity Products Are Not Created Equal so Infineum has developed a wide range of Lubricity additives in its portfolio.
Lubricity additives are used in diesel fuel to reduce wear on engine components, particularly the fuel pump, to prevent break-down of the engine. With the advent of Ultra-Low Sulphur Diesel, lubricity additives became a requirement in most fuels to meet the ASTM D975 specifications for diesel.
There are two primary chemistry solutions for lubricity improvers – neutral or acidic:
- Ester neutral chemistry expertise with demonstrated performance over 20+ years, universally accepted by the world’s largest refiners and ideal products for tailored combination packages.
- Monoacid lubricity with a range of products carefully selected to meet widening needs on handling, multi-product pipeline, cost and fuel performance.

Diesel fuel lubricity additives have been used successfully in the field for over 20 years. However, changes at the refinery and to vehicle hardware mean that understanding their performance in the latest fuels is essential.
Lubricity response in a large number of fuels confirm Ester and Monoacid Lubricity products behave differently.
As part of Infineums commitment to customers in finding both technical and affordable solutions we formulate our lubricity additives to meet our customers exacting needs.
Infineum has explored extensively lubricity sources with a view to ensure robust performance and trouble-free use when determining its Ester and Monoacid products. Where required products have Multi Product Pipeline Approval allowing co-transportation of jet fuel thus increasing fuel export opportunities.
